Original design manufacturing (ODM) corporations Cosmecca Korea will invest 200 billion won to build a skincare production facility in the Ochang Science Industrial Complex in Cheongju, North Chungcheong.
Cosmecca Korea said on the 10th it signed an investment memorandum of understanding (MOU) with North Chungcheong Province and Cheongju for the construction of a new cosmetics manufacturing facility. Under the agreement, the company plans to invest a total of 200 billion won from this year through 2030 to expand its skincare production infrastructure.
The new plant will be built on a 50,174-square-meter (about 15,177-pyeong) site within the Ochang Science Industrial Complex in Oksan-myeon, Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju. The total floor area will be 58,863 square meters (about 17,806 pyeong). By constructing the new factory, the company plans to expand production capacity and establish a supply base to support global business growth.
The plant will introduce a manufacturing system applying artificial intelligence transformation (AX). Using artificial intelligence (AI), the company plans to advance production processes and build a production system that can respond to rising global K-beauty demand.
Cosmecca Korea will break ground on the plant this month and is targeting initial operations in 2027. It will then expand production facilities in stages through 2030. In the process, the company plans to hire about 500 new employees.
