Hitejinro(000080) said on the 9th that it will end operations at its soju-producing factory in Iksan, North Jeolla, and integrate production functions into the Jeonju factory. The move is to streamline production bases due to aging facilities.
Hitejinro will halt production at the Iksan factory starting on the 16th of next month. Production equipment and personnel will also be moved sequentially to the Jeonju factory.
The Iksan factory was built in 1957 as the former Bobae Soju factory and has been in operation for 69 years as of this year. Last year's sales of products produced there were 42.1 billion won. That is 1.68% of Hitejinro's sales on a consolidation basis last year (2.4986 trillion won).
Hitejinro said, "We made this decision to improve production efficiency after comprehensively considering the aging of the factory and facilities and operating conditions," and noted, "We expect no impact on product production and supply."
