Pulmuone(017810) said on the 9th that its kitchen appliance "Steam Cook Air Fryer" won a main award at the international design awards "IDEA (International Design Excellence Award) 2026."
IDEA is an international design award organized by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and is considered one of the world's top three design awards along with Germany's "Red Dot Design Award" and "iF Design Award."
This is the first time Pulmuone's home appliance has won a global design award. Pulmuone entered the home appliance market by launching an air fryer in 2021, and it also makes kimchi refrigerators and food waste disposers.
The "Steam Cook Prime Air Fryer," which won the award, is a large 15L model that was released in March. With a single operation, it can flip multiple ingredients at the same time, and it comes with 54 automatic cooking menus, including rice and namul. It features "automatic steam cleaning," which lets users maintain the interior without chemical detergents, and a "detachable heater guard" that allows cleaning up to the upper heating element. The simple design combines an analog dial with hidden touch buttons, and a fingerprint-resistant matte finish enhances the overall quality.
Kang Jae-hoon, head of Pulmuone's Living Care Business Division, said, "This award is meaningful in that it enhanced the competitiveness of Pulmuone's kitchen appliances and the value of kitchen interiors," adding, "We will continue to research functions and designs needed from the customer's perspective to lead the steam air fryer market."
