Convenience store CU said on the 6th it will discount more than 70 types of alcohol, side dishes, snacks, and beverages ahead of the Asian Games that open on the 19th.
The promotion runs from the 15th through the end of the month. Targeting demand for cheering on sports games, it will discount alcohol such as beer, whiskey, and wine, as well as side dishes and snacks.
A six-pack of 500㎖ Tsingtao and Asahi Style Free will be sold for 12,000 won starting on the 10th. Whiskeys such as Jack Daniel's Apple and Nikka Frontier will be discounted up to 20%, and some wines are also included.
Side dishes such as grilled pollock and snacks such as Caramel Corn Peanuts and O!ng seafood chips will be discounted up to 30%.
Considering that the Chuseok holiday overlaps with the tournament period, CU will also offer small-portion fruit products such as Shine Muscat, geobong (Kyoho), pears, and apples at discounted prices. Some health supplements will also be offered with a promotion that takes 2,000 won off per item when buying multiple units.
A CU official said, "We prepared a variety of discount events for customers cheering on the games ahead of the Asian Games."
The 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games will be held from the 19th to Oct. 4 in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya, Japan.
