Hyungji Global, an affiliate of Hyungji Fashion Group, will introduce artificial intelligence (AI)-based customer behavior analysis technology to improve operations at its offline stores.
Hyungji Global said on the 4th that on the 3rd it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for "AI-based smart retail innovation" with IT solutions company MAZE at the Hyungji Global Fashion Complex Center in Songdo, Incheon. The company plans to use MAZE's AI spatial intelligence solution RIZE to analyze each store's visitor volume and dwell time, customer movement paths, and whether customers return, and to identify customer interest by product and style zones for store operations. The company decided to first apply the solution at Art Malling, a shopping center in Hadan-dong, Saha District, Busan. Based on the data accumulated at Art Malling, it will establish common operating standards.
RIZE uses on-site terminals to identify the flow of returning customers and changes in customer relationships by store. MAZE has verified the related technology in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) sector, and through this partnership seeks to expand it into a model applicable to continuously operating offline stores.
Choi Junho, Hyungji Global CEO, said, "Our goal is not to stop at adopting AI technology but to understand the different behaviors and needs of customers at each store and tie that to real operational changes," adding, "After validating a data-driven operating model at Art Malling, we will expand it to all offline stores of brands under Hyungji Fashion Group."
Song Giseon, MAZE CEO, said, "With RIZE, our goal is to enable client companies to accurately identify store-specific problems and opportunities and confirm changes after execution," adding, "We will analyze visit, dwell, movement path, and revisit data together with actual operational and sales indicators to build a growth model that can be applied repeatedly."
Hyungji Global and MAZE plan to decide the specific order and scope of adoption for each brand under Hyungji Fashion Group based on the proof-of-concept results at Art Malling. System supply and implementation schedules and expense will be set by separate contracts according to the proof-of-concept results.
