With kimjang season approaching, big-box stores have begun taking preorders for salted napa cabbage.
E-MART(139480) said on the 1st that from the 3rd to the 9th it will take preorders for salted napa cabbage through the E-MART application (app) farm-to-door service "Order to Home."
At the event, it will offer a limited 3,000 boxes of napa cabbage harvested and salted from Anbandegi, a highland vegetable field at an elevation of 1,100 meters near Daegwallyeong in Gangwon Province.
If customers buy 10kg of domestically produced salted napa cabbage with the event card, they get a 10% discount and can receive it on a date of their choice between the 16th and 19th of this month.
E-MART said it boosted price competitiveness by contracting with farms from the seeding stage and preparing volumes through direct transactions.
Lotte Mart will also run preorder sales for salted napa cabbage and dried red peppers from the 3rd to the 9th. Preordered items can be picked up in stores on the 18th–19th. The same prices are available at Lotte Super.
Lotte Mart secured about 300 tons (t) of salted napa cabbage after prior coordination with farms in the Pyeongchang area of Gangwon Province. Representative items include "Pyeongchang highland salted napa cabbage" and "kimchi seasoning." Dried red pepper items include "Gochang sun-dried pepper" and "Sunchang new-crop dried red pepper."
