Lotte Group said on the 28th it donated 1 billion won to support swift recovery and aid for residents displaced by record-breaking torrential rain in Gyeongsang region areas including Geoje and Tongyeong in South Gyeongsang, and Andong and Uiseong in North Gyeongsang.
The funds will be donated to the National Disaster Relief Association through the Community Chest of Korea and used for recovery efforts in affected areas and for relief supplies for displaced residents.
Earlier, on the 18th, Lotte Mart delivered about 1,500 emergency relief items—such as cup noodles, beverages and energy bars—to the affected areas through its Geoje store.
Lotte Group also previously contributed 1 billion won last year to residents displaced by wildfires in the Yeongnam region and 1 billion won to support those affected by nationwide torrential rain.
