Paradise City said on the 27th that it will launch a resource-circulation project that separately collects clear PET bottles generated at the resort and turns them into high-quality recycled PET (r-PET) raw material in partnership with Superbin, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based resource-circulation corporations.
When clear, label-free PET bottles used at Paradise City are separated from other waste and collected, Superbin transports them to its own production facility. After sorting and washing/processing, they are made into recycled PET raw material in Flake Co. and pellet forms, which are then supplied to domestic bottled water and beverage companies for use in manufacturing new PET bottles.
Paradise City expects that, based on past bottled water usage and other factors, about 9.6 tons of clear PET bottles per year can be converted into recycled raw material. It also plans to regularly tally the collected volume and manage waste generated at business sites and resource-circulation performance.
This project will also introduce a compensation system for partner companies that participate in collecting waste PET bottles. Depending on the number of bottles recovered, the resulting compensation will be returned to partners in the form of vouchers and gift certificates to encourage participation in separate discharge. The aim is to ensure that the economic gains from cutting waste flow back to the supply chain that took part in the resource-circulation process.
Superbin is responsible for producing recycled raw material from waste PET bottles. Superbin independently operates everything from AI-enabled resource sorting to collection, logistics, and materialization. The r-PET pellets of its recycled raw material brand "Repurium," produced from collected clear PET bottles, have been recognized by the Ministery of Food and Drug Safety as recycled raw material that can be used for food utensils, containers, and packaging.
A Paradise official said, "We will continue 'active eco-friendly management' that systematically manages waste generation and recovery and creates practical change with a range of partners."
