The Born Korea(475560) disclosed on Aug. 14 that it posted an operating loss of 5.6 billion won in the second quarter of this year. Compared with an operating loss of 22.5 billion won in the same period last year, the deficit narrowed by about 75%. Revenue for the same period was 83.2 billion won, up 12% from a year earlier.
The Born Korea said, "The second quarter of last year was a special situation in which we injected large-scale co-prosperity support funds to overcome numerous adversities and a severe slump in the dining-out market," adding, "This year, we are maintaining normal business operations and improving a significant portion of our results."
The company plans to continue investing to expand distribution products and enter overseas markets to secure mid- to long-term competitiveness.
