As K-beauty corporations continue to grow in global markets, compensation for top executives at major cosmetics corporations also rose sharply. Vice Chairman Yoon Sang-hyun Kolmar Holdings(024720) received more than 5.3 billion won in the first half of this year, the most among key executives, followed by Chairman Seo Kyung-bae Amorepacific(090430) Group at about 5.2 billion won. CEO Ban Sung-yeon d'Alba Global(483650) nearly tripled compensation from a year earlier.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on the 14th, Vice Chairman Yoon Sang-hyun received a total of 5.332 billion won in the first half: 2.06 billion won from Kolmar Holdings and 3.272 billion won from Kolmar Korea. That was up 107.2% from the 2.57391 billion won received from the two corporations in the same period last year. This year, salary totaled 1.769 billion won across both corporations, and bonuses were 3.564 billion won. In particular, as Kolmar Korea paid 1.86 billion won in long-term performance incentives, the bonus amount increased significantly.
Yoon's father, Kolmar Holdings Chairman Yoon Dong-han, also received a total of 1.818 billion won in the first half, including 714 million won in salary and 1.104 billion won in bonuses. That was up 71.7% from 1.05904 billion won a year earlier. As a result, the total compensation received by Chairman Yoon and Vice Chairman Yoon from Kolmar Holdings and Kolmar Korea reached 7.15 billion won.
Amorepacific Group Chairman Seo Kyung-bae received a total of 5.213 billion won from Amorepacific and Amorepacific Holdings. That was up 1.9% from 5.116 billion won in the first half of last year. Salary from the two corporations totaled 1.737 billion won, and bonuses were 3.476 billion won.
d'Alba Global CEO Ban Sung-yeon received a total of 3.325 billion won in the first half, including 279 million won in salary and 3.046 billion won in bonuses. That was up 177.8% from 1.197 billion won a year earlier. More than 90% of total compensation was bonuses, and d'Alba Global said Ban received performance-based pay in treasury stock as part of responsible management.
APR CEO Kim Byung-hoon received 1.5 billion won in the first half, up 50% from 1 billion won a year earlier. In Kim's case, the entire amount was paid as salary without separate bonuses.
COSMAX Chairman Lee Kyung-soo received a total of 622.4 million won—561.25 million won in salary and 61.15 million won in bonuses—in the first half, down 7.5% from 672.78 million won a year earlier.
President Lee Sun-joo of LG H&H, who took office in Nov. last year, received 647 million won in salary in the first half of this year.
