The supermarket GS The Fresh, operated by GS Retail(007070), said on the 13th that on the 12th it unveiled two "Mucho Más Starlight" wines, red and white, for the first time in Korea.
Mucho Más is a wine brand whose name in Spanish means "more" and "much more." It is known as a daily wine that emphasizes value for money and is currently sold in 65 countries worldwide. Cumulative sales have surpassed 20 million bottles.
The newly released "Mucho Más Starlight Red" adds vanilla and spice flavors to fruit aromas such as blackberry, raspberry, and cherry. It emphasizes soft tannins and a smooth texture.
The white product adds tropical fruit flavors to aromas of peach, apricot, and citrus, and is characterized by fresh acidity and a vanilla finish.
Each of the two products is priced at 22,900 won. To mark the launch, GS The Fresh will sell them at a discount of 19,900 won through the 18th.
GS The Fresh's wine sales rose 9.8% in 2024 from a year earlier and then increased 19.6% last year. In the first half of this year, they also grew 27.4% from a year earlier, widening annual growth.
Targeting this demand, GS The Fresh sells an average of about 40 types of wine per store, and some locations with an expanded assortment carry up to about 100 types. It plans to continue expanding its wine lineup around daily wines with strong value for money and exclusive items.
