After a baby put down snacks at a mother's single "You shouldn't" and the scene drew more than 26 million views on social media (SNS), Nongshim delivered a specially made gift for the baby.
According to the industry on the 6th, a video posted on Instagram by the mother of a baby who turned 1 in March recorded more than 26 million views and 1.5 million "likes" as of the day.
In the video, at the moment the baby tries to take a snack out of a Banana Kick bag, the mother says, "You shouldn't," and the baby immediately puts the snack down with a disappointed look. As it also shows the baby smacking lips or scratching the back of the head, reactions followed such as "Remarkable self-control" and "So cute."
As the video gained huge popularity, Nongshim last month gifted the baby a supersized Banana Kick specially made for the occasion. On the bag, which is taller than the baby, were the baby's face and the phrase "Banana Kick Baby," and along with Banana Kick, Melon Kick and Mango Kick were also produced in large packages.
A follow-up video released by the baby's mother also garnered millions of views. Online commenters said, "Nongshim does good work," "The official Banana Kick Baby is born," and "Gam-da-sal (the vibe is perfectly alive)."
Nongshim said the product was specially produced for the event and there are no plans for general sales. It added that it will continue various programs that can communicate directly with consumers going forward.
