SSG.com said on the 6th it will run early-bird reservations for Chuseok gift sets through the 15th of next month.
Expecting online gift purchases to rise due to the short holiday this year, it increased preparation volume by 10% from Chuseok last year. The company said it also expanded value gift sets priced around 10,000 won by 18% from last year to respond to the trend of widening consumer polarization.
Premium offerings include SSG.com's exclusive brand "Jeongdam" fruit sets, Cheongdam Saebyeokjip premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo sets, Joseon Hotel & Resort kimchi and other foods, lifestyle sets including Heritage towels, and Caviarie caviar sets. Value options include Daecheon seaweed canned laver, Sajo Group tuna cans, Shilla Myunggua madeleines, and household-goods gift sets from Aekyung and LG H&H.
During the reservation period, customers can get up to 50% off on select items when paying with event cards. Depending on the purchase amount, SSG Money rewards worth up to 1.2 million won or instant discounts are also offered.
For members of the "SSG7 Club" membership, exclusive special-price sets and extra reward benefits are available. Buyers of SSG delivery sets get an additional 7% of the payment amount in SSG Money, while parcel-delivery sets earn 3% in SSG Money. SSG7 Club VIP members receive reward benefits with no cap.
