Lotte Wellfood said on the 4th that through the sugar-free, no-sugar-added dessert brand ZERO, it will carry out support activities for people with type 1 diabetes and their families in partnership with the Korea Type 1 Diabetes Association and the Korea Pancreatic Disability Association (the association).
Lotte Wellfood supported the 2026 Type 1 Diabetes Family Camp and the third Hope Bag Project with products from the ZERO brand. The sponsorship is part of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed with the association in Dec. last year.
From the 31st to the 2nd at Cheongpung Resort in Jecheon, North Chungcheong, the 2026 Type 1 Diabetes Family Camp drew about 40 families and more than 140 people with type 1 diabetes and their families from across the country. Lectures and education programs by medical staff, as well as programs for communication among patients and families, were held.
Lotte Wellfood provided various ZERO brand products for the family camp, including ▲ ZERO chocolate chip cookies ▲ ZERO cacao cake ▲ ZERO cookies-and-cream sandwich ▲ ZERO choco pie.
It will also participate in the association's flagship support program, the third Hope Bag Project. The Hope Bag Project is a program that delivers a bag containing medical devices needed for blood sugar management, educational materials, and daily necessities to newly diagnosed people with type 1 diabetes and their families, helping them adapt to a new treatment environment.
A Lotte Wellfood official said, "We hope the ZERO brand can offer a small encouragement and help to people with type 1 diabetes," adding, "We will continue to work with the association to help foster a healthy food culture and improve awareness of the condition."
