Sales were ended early after a complaint that a stone was bitten into in McDonald's "Chungju glutinous corn cheese croquette burger."
According to Korea McDonald's on the 1st, the Chungju glutinous corn cheese croquette burger, released as the sixth menu item on the 9th to mark the fifth anniversary of the "Taste of Korea" project, was discontinued at 8 p.m. on the 30th. Initially slated to be sold through the 12th, the product surpassed 1 million cumulative sales in just two weeks after launch.
However, as customer reports that "stone granules were bitten into" were received one after another while eating the product recently, sales were halted about 20 days after launch.
A Korea McDonald's official said, "If three or more identical reports are received, we proactively suspend product sales," and noted, "For now, there is no possibility of resuming sales."
Korea McDonald's, together with the farms and suppliers that provided the materials and supplies, is investigating the exact cause.
