E-MART(139480) said on the 24th that it has directly imported the "salted butter pretzel sticks (10-count)" from the famous German pretzel bakery brand Ditsch and will sell them at Traders stores nationwide and on SSG.com.
Ditsch specializes in products made with the traditional German baking method "Laugen." Founded in 1919, it has a history of more than 100 years, and its stores are easy to find at airports, train stations, and large shopping malls in Germany.
Laugen is a German baking method in which dough is dipped in an alkaline solution and then baked. The baked product features a dark brown, smooth exterior with a distinctly salty taste and a chewy texture.
The newly released salted butter pretzel sticks add 14.5% salted butter to the German pretzel recipe for a nutty and savory-salty flavor.
Each product weighs 84g, making it suitable as a meal replacement or a snack. Ten pieces are individually packaged to allow consumers to take out only the needed amount from the freezer, improving convenience. There is no need to bake or heat separately; simply take them out to room temperature about 2 hours before eating to thaw naturally.
E-MART is also holding a discount event through Aug. 2 to mark the launch of the new product. When paid with Samsung Card, the regular price of 15,980 won is discounted by 2,000 won to 13,980 won. For "Traders Club" members, an additional TR Cash 500 won, which can be used like cash in stores, will be credited.
E-MART has been developing products since the first half of this year that allow consumers to conveniently enjoy signature menu items from famous overseas restaurants at home, in line with the trend of diversifying food culture among Korean consumers.
On Apr. in Naples, Italy, it launched the Margherita pizza from Damichele, known as a representative pizzeria. Then in May, it introduced three pad thai items in collaboration with Tip Samai, a pad thai specialty restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand.
