FUNFORGE, a hobby culture platform by Navita, which imports and distributes European and global premium toy and hobby brands, said on the 22nd it will open FUNFORGE Miniature Sanctum, a miniature-focused pop-up, on the 5th floor of The Hyundai Pangyo in Gyeonggi from the 24th to Aug. 13. It is the second event following the Pangyo pop-up in Feb. This time, it switched to a lineup dedicated to hobby-related brands and expanded the scale to 132.2㎡ (about 40 pyeong). Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.
The centerpiece of the pop-up is the launch of StarCraft miniatures by Archon Studio. The company said the product brings the world and units of the well-known real-time strategy game to physical miniatures and a tabletop battlefield rather than a screen. It offers strong nostalgia for the generation that played the game and a natural entry point for those new to miniatures.
Starforged, a brand that adapts game intellectual property (IP) into jewelry, is also introduced. The lineup features symbols from worlds such as Warhammer rendered as rings, pendants, and necklaces.
Overseas hobby brands that have not been officially distributed in Korea will also be sold for the first time at this pop-up. Paint brands The Army Painter, Vallejo, AK Interactive, Galeria, and Pro Acryl by Monument Hobbies will enter, with sales starting on Aug. 1. GamersGrass, a terrain material brand, will launch in Korea for the first time. Board game publisher Asmodee and Japanese plastic model brand Aoshima will also be introduced. In the exhibition space, works by 14 Korean miniature artists selected through an open call will be displayed.
Experience programs will run throughout the event period. The miniature painting experience operates daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with eight seats, and visitors can join without a reservation. It takes 20–30 minutes per person, allowing for 350–450 participants per day. The event has secured 1,500 demo miniatures for the experience. An introductory tabletop gaming session for beginners will also run.
Kwon So-hee, Navita's executive director in charge of sales and marketing, said, "Before starting miniature gaming, the biggest hurdle is not price but not knowing where and with what to begin," adding, "FUNFORGE aims to be a brand that takes the first step in the hobby together rather than simply selling products."
FUNFORGE plans to continue running hobby brands and experience programs at the Navita store in COEX Mall even after the pop-up ends. Starting in 2027, it is also considering expansions linked to European gaming and licensing events.
