Lotte Mart's online grocery platform "Lotte Mart Zetta (ZETTA)" said on the 20th it will run the three-day online discount festival "Monthly Zetta" through the 22nd. The event will offer up to 50% off on about 300 key fresh foods and daily necessities.
Lotte Mart Zetta is an AI-based online grocery shopping–only platform that Lotte Shopping launched in April last year after improving the previous "Lotte Mart Mall" app. Lotte rolled it out after more than a year of joint development following a partnership agreement signed in Nov. 2022 with the U.K. retail tech company Ocado.
Monthly Zetta is an online-only event arranged in light of major discount events at big-box marts clustering from Thursday through the weekend. It first began in May and is characterized by offering online grocery shopping benefits from Monday to Wednesday, when discount events are relatively fewer.
For the July event, it expanded half-price items for new customers while easing the cart discount conditions for existing users. It also provides per-item discounts and easy-payment benefits.
New customers can buy about 300 food and daily-necessity items, including "Zespri gold kiwifruit (6–10 count, pack)," "grape tomatoes (1 kilogram, pack)," and "Oneuljoeun natural pulp kitchen towels (140 sheets × 6 rolls)," at about half the regular price. The discount applies to one eligible item per ID.
It is also running discounts on key foods and household goods. "Grade 1 premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo, loin for grilling (100 grams, chilled)" is offered to L.POINT members at up to 40% off. A 20% coupon from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs applies to "Seongju chamoe (3 kilograms, box)" and "soft peaches (4–7 count, box)."
Some 60 kinds of iced tea and kombucha are offered under a "buy one, get one (1+1)" deal. For about 160 kinds of sanitary pads, buying two or more gets 50% off per item. Nine kinds of Happy Home insecticides are discounted up to 20%, and an additional 5,000 won is taken off when purchasing 30,000 won or more of related products.
It also lowered the threshold for using cart coupons. During the event, customers who purchase 80,000 won or more receive a 10,000 won discount coupon. In the June event, purchases of 100,000 won or more were required to receive a coupon, but this time the minimum has been lowered by 20,000 won.
Jang Jae-young, Lotte Mart and Super e-marketing planning team leader, said, "This Monthly Zetta further strengthened both discount items and cart benefits so that everyone from new to existing customers can feel the difference," adding, "We will continue to introduce a variety of discount events that can ease the shopping burden for online grocery customers."
