Seven-Eleven, the convenience store operated by Korea Seven, said on the 19th it has launched "Hoster Premium," a Spanish-made sparkling beer-like beverage that can be purchased for the equivalent of 990 won per can.
The product is produced by Damm Brewery, Spain's largest beer maker. It adds a smooth swallow and a pleasantly bitter finish to a beer-like drinking feel.
The price of a six-can pack of Hoster Premium is 5,940 won, or 990 won per can. Seven-Eleven plans to bring in the product in four installments through the fourth quarter this year. The total prepared volume is 1.4 million cans.
The new product is an extension of the "1,000-won series," which Seven-Eleven released in April and June 2024. Cumulative sales of "Virgi Mister" and "Praga Fresh," products in the series, have surpassed 4.5 million cans to date.
Meanwhile, Seven-Eleven is also running a canned beer discount event through the end of this month to meet the rise in summer alcohol demand. Including domestic beers such as Cas and Terra, it is selling bundled 500 mL canned beer in 12 varieties—including Budweiser, Hoegaarden, and Kozel Dark—for 8,800 won. Including these, it plans to run various discount promotions on a total of 31 types of canned beer bundles.
Kim Yu-seung, the merchandise manager for beverages and alcohol at Seven-Eleven, said, "Buoyed by the strong response to the previously introduced '1,000-won series,' which has sold more than 4.5 million cans in total, we prepared this product," and added, "We prepared it so you can enjoy a cool, clean alcoholic beverage at an affordable price, and we hope you spend a refreshing summer along with the rich discount promotions Seven-Eleven has arranged this summer."
