Shinsegae Department Store said on the 9th that it will hold the "Local is Shinsegae premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo project" at the food halls of the main store, Gangnam store, Centum City store and Daegu store from the 10th to the 16th.
"Local is Shinsegae" is a project that introduces local gastronomy and culture as travel content. This is the first time it has featured producers and regional ingredients as its theme.
At this event, it will present Yeonggwang's "barley-fed premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo" and Gangjin's "yeomul premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo." A feature is that it introduces local producers' rearing methods and the characteristics of each producing area.
Yeonggwang barley-fed premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo is raised on feed made by fermenting and aging barley and is pastured on grasslands. Gangjin yeomul premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo is raised on a traditional cattle porridge boiled with sesame, oats and barley bran.
During the event, it will also showcase premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo specialty cuts that are generally hard to find. In connection with the "Taste the New World" event hosted by Shinsegae Department Store, it plans to introduce a variety of premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo.
On the Shinsegae Department Store application (app), starting at 8 p.m. on the 9th, customers who download event-only coupons can purchase Yeonggwang barley-fed premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo and Gangjin yeomul premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo bulgogi at special prices. The coupons are offered in limited quantities.
Shinsegae Department Store plans to collaborate with Korean cuisine chefs to present course meals using local premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo, and to pursue collaborations with gastronomy influencers.
