SSG.com (Sseuk.com) will roll out a service that delivers products within two hours of ordering by using E-MART stores as logistics hubs.
SSG.com said on the 8th it will pilot a delivery service starting on the 9th that allows customers in areas near the E-MART Yangjae and Hanam stores to receive products within two hours of ordering.
For this service, if you order by 8 p.m., delivery will be completed within two hours based on the time of the same-day order. Customers in eligible areas can check the "available for delivery within 2 hours" notice on the main screen and order form of the SSG.com application (app). Customers can also use the existing scheduled delivery service that lets them choose their preferred date and time.
Refrigerated and frozen products are packed in dedicated insulated pouches and shipped immediately from E-MART stores. The free delivery threshold remains 40,000 won. "Sseuk 7 Club" membership members can earn 7% of the purchase amount for Sseuk Delivery (daytime, dawn, Traders) products as SSG Money.
Starting this month with the Yangjae and Hanam stores, SSG.com will expand the service to major areas of Seoul, including the Wolgye, Garden 5 and Sindorim stores in Aug. From Sept., it will expand nationwide and apply it to about 50 E-MART stores by the end of the year.
Through this overhaul, the company plans to refine its delivery system to strengthen competitiveness in online grocery shopping, including "Sseuk Delivery," which offers daytime, evening and dawn delivery; "Traders Delivery" focused on bulk products; the one-hour instant delivery service "BaroQuick"; and the guaranteed-arrival service "Star Delivery."
Recently, Sseuk.com has been focusing on strengthening competitiveness in delivery and membership. In Feb., it increased BaroQuick service hubs to 80 nationwide. BaroQuick is a service that delivers E-MART products such as food and daily necessities within about one hour for orders placed within a 3-kilometer radius of an E-MART store.
Han Geon-su, who oversees SCM at SSG.com, said, "We are building a delivery system that quickly delivers fresh products at the time customers want, based on E-MART store infrastructure," adding, "We will continue to improve delivery speed and convenience to transform the online grocery shopping experience."
