Hanatour said on the 7th that it has named Cho Jwa-jin, former head of Lotte Card, as its new chief executive officer (CEO).
Cho, the nominee, is a professional manager with 35 years of experience in strategy, marketing and management. After working at global consulting firms A.T. Kearney and Monitor Group, Cho served as the inaugural head of the Seoul office of Oliver Wyman. Cho later held roles including head of strategy and finance and head of marketing at Hyundai Card, Hyundai Capital and Hyundai Commercial, and went on to lead Hyundai Capital America and Lotte Card.
Cho will be officially appointed after an extraordinary shareholders meeting on Aug. 18.
Hanatour said the decision aims to respond proactively to the rapidly changing travel industry environment after COVID-19 and to push ahead with its future growth strategy, "Hanatour Chapter 2."
