Gentle Monster will unveil AI smart glasses developed in collaboration with Google and Samsung Electronics.
Gentle Monster said on the 2nd that it plans to launch the next-generation "Intelligent Eyewear," co-developed by Google and Samsung Electronics, this fall.
Intelligent Eyewear is a glasses product that combines Samsung Electronics' hardware technology, Google's operating system (OS) and AI ecosystem, and Gentle Monster's design capabilities. It was first unveiled at Google I/O 2026 in May.
The product is equipped with voice-based AI features. Using the device's built-in miniature camera and speaker, users can converse with Google's AI model "Gemini" in real time. It supports various AI assistant functions such as navigation and real-time translation, and it can be controlled entirely by voice commands.
Gentle Monster handled the product's design. It focused on realizing a fashion eyewear form that can be worn naturally in daily life while housing components needed for smart glasses, such as the battery and chipset.
Gentle Monster's strategy is to use this product to accelerate expansion of its business scope beyond fashion into tech. A Gentle Monster official said, "Intelligent Eyewear will become a medium that delivers new inspiration and original cultural experiences to global consumers, going beyond being a mere tool to convey technology."
Global big tech corporations are accelerating their push into the AI glasses market with fashion eyewear brands. Last month, Meta officially launched in Korea the AI glasses "Ray-Ban Meta" and "Oakley Meta," developed in partnership with Ray-Ban and Oakley.
