Samyang Foods said on the 1st it will launch "Jjarreureu," a premium jjajang ramyeon made with beef tallow.
Samyang Foods explained it released the new product on the back of growing demand for premium jjajang ramyeon that emphasizes the product's inherent aroma and deep flavor, and the successful market entry of "Samyang1963," a premium tallow ramyeon.
It features noodles fried in beef tallow, jjajang soup made with a roasting method, and beef dice flakes. It also applies a cooking method that does not drain the water, designed so the starchy water infused from the tallow-fried noodles can be used as is.
From the 1st to the 5th, Samyang Foods will take preorders for "Jjarreureu" on the Samyang Foods official mall, and starting on the 8th it will begin rolling out sales sequentially across major distribution channels including hypermarkets and convenience stores nationwide. It also plans a consumer promotion alongside a Naver live broadcast.
Tallow frying is Samyang Foods' representative manufacturing technology. "Samyang1963," released in Nov. last year, surpassed cumulative sales of 7 million units within a month of launch. Based on manufacturing technology and know-how built over more than 60 years, Samyang Foods plans to extend its unique tallow heritage to jjajang ramyeon and strengthen its premium lineup.
A Samyang Foods official said, "We aim to offer a new option in the premium jjajang ramyeon market through the deep, nutty flavor realized by Samyang Foods' unique tallow frying technology," adding, "We will continue to introduce differentiated products using tallow to further expand our tallow heritage, while strengthening our competitiveness in the premium ramyeon market."
