Golfzon, a company specializing in golf simulators, said on the 1st that, as an official partner of the United States Golf Association (USGA), it operated an experience zone for its "TwoVision NX" simulator on-site at the U.S. Women's Open and the U.S. Open held last month.
Golfzon signed an official partnership with the USGA last year and was designated the official golf simulator for the two championships.
Golfzon installed TwoVision NX at the 81st U.S. Women's Open held June 4–7 (local time) at Riviera CC in California and at the 126th U.S. Open held June 18–21 at Shinnecock Hills GC in New York. It virtually recreated each tournament course and ran participatory programs such as nearest-to-the-pin and long-drive contests and lessons from professional golfers. TwoVision NX uses Golfzon's proprietary Motion Plate technology to reproduce more than 56,000 lie conditions and provides data such as launch angle, spin rate, and ball speed through high-speed camera-based analysis.
At the U.S. Women's Open, a nearest-to-the-pin event using the par-3 14th hole was held for spectators. In the Champions Pavilion, VIP customers experienced the simulator alongside lesson programs from professional golfers Holly Clyburn and Maiya Tanaka.
At the U.S. Open, experience zones were set up in three areas. Spectators joined a nearest-to-the-pin event set against the signature 3rd hole at Shinnecock Hills, and enjoyed a long-drive contest at Fan Central. In the 17th Village, golf instructor Bryce Kopp offered swing lessons alongside a program where participants played the 17th hole themselves.
Sean Byun, CEO of Golfzon America, said, "The partnership with the USGA is meaningful in helping fans experience golf more up close," adding, "We are providing a special experience where people can try out the courses where the world's best players compete and test their own skills."
Through operating these experience zones, Golfzon confirmed demand for immersive content that goes beyond watching to direct participation. Building on its partnership with the USGA, Golfzon plans to continue marketing activities in the U.S. market through 2027.
