Canada coffee house Tim Hortons said on the 29th it will hold a "Canada Day Week" event for its mobile app members through July 5 to mark Canada Day (July 1). Canada Day is celebrated every July 1 to commemorate the country's founding, with events and festivals held across Canada as families and friends enjoy summer food.
Canada Day Week centers on popular coffee, beverage and donut items, featuring buy one, get one free (1+1) offers and merchandise discounts, and provides three benefits that change daily. On the first day of the event, it will offer a 1+1 on Americano and the signature dessert "Honey Cruller," and sell the Tim Hortons cold cup for enjoying summer drinks cold at a 20% discount.
On the 1st, Canada Day itself, it will sell the national coffee symbolizing Canada's local coffee culture, "Double Double," and "Honey Glazed Donut" as a 1+1. The Tim Hortons mascot keyring can also be purchased at a 20% discount. In addition, from the summer signature drink "Iced Capp" to "Quencher" and the latte lineup, Tim Hortons' representative menu items will be offered with different benefits by date.
A Tim Hortons official said, "Based on the heritage of Canada's diverse culture, Tim Hortons has continued to try new ways for customers in Korea to experience Tim Hortons in various ways," and added, "We hope this promotion will let people enjoy the lively festival atmosphere and the brand's signature menu items, and serve as an opportunity for Tim Hortons and domestic customers to get even closer."
Meanwhile, Tim Hortons began with a small coffee shop opened in Hamilton, Ontario, by Canada's national ice hockey player Tim Horton. Over the following 60 years, it gained nationwide popularity and established itself as the No. 1 coffee brand by market share in Canada. Entering Korea in December 2023, Tim Hortons now operates 28 stores. The brand plans to open 50 stores this year and 150 stores by 2028.
