Samyang Foods said on the 22nd it hosted the "Spindle Trail Run 2026" at Samyang Roundhill in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon Province.
Held on the 21st, the "Spindle Trail Run 2026" was the first offline event for "Spindle," a metabolism-focused healthcare brand Samyang Foods launched last month. About 700 people, including Chairman Kim Jung-soo of Samyang Foods, company employees, and the general public, took part.
Participants ran two trail courses of 12 km and 20 km set against the grasslands and ranch backdrop of Samyang Roundhill, experiencing the Spindle brand.
An interactive event space, the "Spindle Activation Zone," and a rest area for finishers, the "Recovery Zone," were also set up. The event also offered ranch experience programs and a variety of souvenirs, including "Akkermansia for strength" and Pyeongchang specialties.
Samyang Foods said the course design, differentiated from typical running races, and a range of hands-on content drew a positive response.
Spindle is a metabolism-focused healthcare brand that aims to improve fundamental metabolic health based on metabolic flexibility, going beyond nutritional supplementation. Metabolic flexibility refers to the body's ability to efficiently switch and utilize various energy sources, such as carbohydrates and fats, as appropriate. The brand's first product, "Akkermansia for strength," is a muscle-strengthening care product based on metabolic balance, differentiated from conventional protein-focused muscle management.
Samyang Foods said last month, when it launched Spindle, that "based on the know-how that has led the food industry, we plan to set a new standard for metabolic health in the health functional foods category through the Spindle brand." It also opened a Spindle-only online mall.
A Samyang Foods official said, "We planned this event so people could directly experience in nature the healthy lifestyle Spindle pursues," adding, "We will continue to expand touchpoints with consumers while promoting Spindle's differentiated brand value."
