OTOKI said on the 19th it has completed the global logistics center built in Samnam, Ulsan, to strengthen its capability to respond to global logistics.
The Samnam Global Logistics Center was built as an automated warehouse with a total floor area of 5,560 pyeong, spanning one basement level to five above-ground floors. It can store up to 9,980 pallets (PLT) and will serve as a global logistics hub to respond quickly and reliably to increasing export volumes.
The center was designed to improve efficiency across all logistics processes, including inbound and outbound, sticker work, and picking (consolidation·partitioning). It is equipped with an inbound and outbound operation system based on automated facilities such as a warehouse management system (WMS) and a warehouse control system (WCS), as well as an integrated monitoring system. OTOKI expects this to shorten logistics processing times and improve operating accuracy.
OTOKI's expansion of export logistics infrastructure aligns with the trend of growing overseas business. As growth in Korea's food market slows, overseas demand for K-food such as ramen, sauces, and ready-to-eat meals is increasing, making export responsiveness and logistics efficiency key competitive factors across the food industry.
OTOKI also held a completion ceremony on the 18th to mark the center's completion. Fifty-five internal officials attended the ceremony, which included a tape cutting, an overhead door opening, and a plaque unveiling for the completion.
An OTOKI official said, "Amid growing global demand, the Samnam Global Logistics Center will become a key hub that strengthens logistics competitiveness based on a state-of-the-art automated logistics supply system," adding, "We will continue working to establish an operating system that can reliably respond to increasing export volumes."
