Genesis BBQ Group (hereinafter BBQ), which operates the chicken brand BBQ, said on the 10th it will launch the "AI Hwang-ol set" and the "AI first-pitch set." These sets feature the menu that Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang enjoyed during his visit to Korea and will be sold for a limited two-week period.
BBQ is running a special promotion selling the menu combinations chosen by Huang at à la carte prices. The AI Hwang-ol set offers French fries and two Lemon Boy drinks at the price of Golden Olive Chicken. The AI first-pitch set will include two cream cheese balls and two Lemon Boy drinks at the price of Crunch Boneless Cracker. This is in the same vein as last year's release of the "AI set," which bundled the items ordered by Huang; Lee Jae-yong, chairman of Samsung Electronics; and Chung Eui-sun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, at a Kkanbu Chicken outlet in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
On the 5th, after having dinner with heads of domestic partner corporations at a samgyeopsal restaurant near Hongdaeipgu Station in Mapo District, Seoul, Huang visited BBQ's Hongdaeipgu branch, enjoyed signature items including Golden Olive Chicken and Lemon Boy, and left his autograph.
On the 7th, taking the mound for the ceremonial first pitch at a professional baseball game at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, Huang said, "Nothing beats chimaek." That day, Nvidia placed a group order for 113 boxes of Crunch Boneless Cracker at BBQ's Jamsil Baseball Stadium branch, and a broadcast camera captured Huang enjoying the item during the game.
A BBQ official said, "As consumer interest grew in directly experiencing the menu enjoyed together by the recent AI emperor and Korean partners, we prepared this limited-time set," adding, "We will continue to provide novel experiences to consumers through various marketing activities that link the BBQ app and stores, and strengthen our competitiveness as a leading K-chicken brand."
