Lotte Department Store said on the 10th it will open a store for global street fashion brand HUMAN MADE on the first floor of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil, Seoul, on the 13th.
HUMAN MADE is a lifestyle and fashion brand founded in 2010 by Japanese fashion designer NIGO (Tomoaki Nagao). NIGO is the founder of BAPE, which gained popularity with its monkey character. After Kenzo Takada, the founder of luxury brand Kenzo, NIGO also made a name for himself as the first Japanese head designer.
To mark the store opening, Lotte Department Store will also unveil limited items sold only at Lotte World Mall in Jamsil. The flagship lineup is the "Neoguri animal collection," which uses a raccoon, selected as the animal symbolizing Jamsil, and consists of nine items including apparel and goods. When opening new stores, HUMAN MADE has introduced limited collections by selecting an animal character that symbolizes the region or space.
A collaboration collection with VERDY, HUMAN MADE's creative director and an artist, will also be released exclusively. Six items, including a work jacket and tote bag, featuring graphics that combine VERDY's character "VICK" with the HUMAN MADE heart logo, will be introduced.
Recently, Lotte World Mall has been accelerating the attraction of overseas fashion brands. In May, it opened the first stores in Korea for bag brand PORTER and running brand Saucony, and in March it held an exhibition marking the 20th anniversary of HYPEBEAST, a fashion and culture media platform.
Yoon Hyeong-jin, head of fashion at Lotte Department Store, said, "HUMAN MADE is one of the brands drawing attention in the global fashion market," adding, "We plan to continue presenting differentiated brands and content, a core competitive edge that drives customer traffic."
