OTOKI said on the 10th that it released three types of "cup tteokbokki."
OTOKI said the new products were developed to reflect a trend of more consumers seeking tteokbokki in ready-to-eat form at convenience stores.
The cup tteokbokki lineup consists of three varieties: ▲ original ▲ rosé ▲ hot spicy.
All three products can be stored at room temperature for easy keeping. In addition, OTOKI said it applied a "purified water cooking method," which allows cooking with only purified water and a microwave without separately preparing boiling water, reducing the risk of burns and allowing young children to cook safely.
Through the new products, OTOKI plans to target demand from consumers in their teens to 30s who want to enjoy tteokbokki easily regardless of time, place, or situation, as well as foreign tourists who want to experience K-tteokbokki.
An OTOKI official said, "We put together three flavors so people can enjoy them anytime, anywhere to suit different tastes," adding, "The new products reflect consumer demand and K-food trends, balancing convenience and quality."
Tteokbokki is gaining popularity in the global market, ranking eighth among favorite Korean dishes for foreigners in the "2025 Overseas Korean Food Consumer Survey" released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Food Promotion Institute (KFPI).
Meanwhile, OTOKI plans to attack the global market by putting K-food front and center. It previously released bungeoppang as a product for U.S. exports and said it plans to showcase K-street food product lines such as tteokbokki and gim-mari at the same time to introduce new tastes and fun of K-food in the global market.
