Orion Group said on the 5th that it will relocate its headquarters to Dogok-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, on the 8th. The current headquarters is in Munbae-dong, Yongsan District, Seoul.
Under Seoul City's "Samgakji station area revitalization project," the current headquarters site is expected to be developed into a mixed-use residential and commercial complex with five underground floors and 38 above-ground floors.
Earlier, in Jul. last year, Seoul City approved with amendments the "district unit plan decision (draft) for the area around 30-10 Munbae-dong, Yongsan District."
Orion employees are expected to begin reporting to the new headquarters in Dogok-dong on the 8th of next month.
Orion acquired Punguk Confectionery in 1956 to found the company and has since continued to operate with its headquarters and plant in Munbae-dong, Yongsan.
However, as the building aged and staffing increased with business expansion, the need for a headquarters transfer was raised, and in 2021 the company finalized construction of a new headquarters on a site in Dogok-dong.
An Orion Group official said, "The future schedule and detailed plans related to the current headquarters site development have not yet been finalized."
