Baemin said on the 2nd that Baemin Academy surpassed a cumulative 350,000 students 12 years after opening.
According to Woowa Brothers, which operates Baemin, Baemin Academy is a training center run free of charge for restaurant owners, and as of the end of Apr., the cumulative number of students totaled 357,174. After surpassing a cumulative 300,000 students last year, about 50,000 more people took restaurant industry training in one year.
Baemin Academy opened in 2014. With the goal of supporting restaurant owners' competitiveness and growth, it has provided a variety of free programs, including basic knowledge and theory needed for running a business, hands-on training, and consulting. Representative offerings include traditional liquor, wine, and beer tasting classes, as well as menu planning and marketing education using artificial intelligence (AI). The focus appears to be on courses that can be applied to actual store operations.
The training operates as real-time "application-based classes" and "video classes" that can be taken online anytime, anywhere. The two tracks have been offered a total of 4,485 times across online and offline. In particular, Baemin said word of mouth that the courses significantly help actual store operations has driven more restaurant owners to seek out Baemin Academy.
In particular, the "Baemin AI Business School course," launched in Sept. last year, teaches brand strategy, store operation strategy, and production of visual content for promotion using AI. It is known to be well received by many owners as a program that uses AI to create store websites and posters, producing results that can be applied to store operations right away in a short time.
Kwon Yong-gyu, head of Baemin Academy at Woowa Brothers, said, "We aim to remain a reliable partner with programs that strengthen the competitiveness of our foodservice partners and deliver tangible results."
