Orion will leave Yongsan and transfer its headquarters to Dogok-dong in Seoul's Gangnam next month. It will be the first time in about 70 years since its founding.
Orion disclosed on the 19th that it will lease land and buildings around Nambusunhwan-ro in Gangnam District, Seoul, from Orion Holdings. The lease period runs from the 5th of next month to Dec. 31, 2031, and the annual rent is 13.767 billion won.
Orion employees are scheduled to start commuting to the new headquarters in Dogok-dong on the 8th of next month.
The new headquarters spans six basement levels to 10 above-ground floors and is the former site of Market O, a dining outlet once operated by Orion.
Orion acquired Pungguk Confectionery in 1956 and, since its founding, has continued to base its headquarters and plant in Munbae-dong, Yongsan.
However, as the building aged and staffing increased with business expansion, the need to transfer the headquarters was raised, and in 2021 the company finalized construction of a new building on the Dogok-dong site.
