CJ Foodville said on the 13th that Jeil Jemyeonso, which it operates, will launch "Jeil naengmyeon" as a summer limited menu starting on the 14th. It will also introduce side dishes that capture regional flavors, such as Chungcheong-style yukjeon and Sokcho-style myeongtae hoe muchim.
Jeil naengmyeon consists of two items: Jeil mul naengmyeon and Jeil bibim naengmyeon. Jeil mul naengmyeon highlights naengmyeon's signature umami in a broth blended at an optimal ratio. Jeil bibim naengmyeon features a house special sauce unique to Jeil Jemyeonso that whets the appetite.
This year, it will also roll out side dishes with regional flair to enjoy with naengmyeon. Chungcheong-style yukjeon, known for bringing out pork's nutty and savory notes, had been sold only at the Yeouido IFC Mall location. Reflecting customer response, CJ Foodville made it available at all locations starting this summer.
Sokcho-style myeongtae hoe muchim is mixed with a spicy-sour seasoning to deliver a chewy, firm texture. Enjoyed with mul naengmyeon, it adds heat to the clean, chilled broth; paired with bibim naengmyeon, it doubles the tangy flavor, according to CJ Foodville. A set menu is also available to try both side dishes together.
A CJ Foodville official said, "Jeil naengmyeon is a menu that consistently earns love every summer. This year, we were also able to highlight regional character with side dishes," adding, "We plan to keep working to introduce new items every summer."
