Bernard Arnault, chair of LVMH, will visit Korea for the first time in three years.
According to the industry on the 8th, Arnault plans to tour "The Reserve," the world's largest Louis Vuitton store located at the Shinsegae Department Store main branch in Sogong-dong, Seoul, on the 11th.
Opened in Dec. last year, The Reserve is the world's largest Louis Vuitton store, housing not only the brand's fashion, watches and jewelry, and beauty boutiques but also a restaurant, cafe, chocolate shop, and gift shop.
It will be Arnault's first visit to Korea in three years since 2023. The move is seen as a strategic review of the Korean market, where luxury sales are rising even as growth in the global luxury market slows.
Last year, Louis Vuitton's Korean subsidiary posted record results. Louis Vuitton Korea's revenue last year rose 6.1% from a year earlier to 1.8543 trillion won, while operating profit jumped 35.1% to 525.6 billion won.
Arnault is also expected to tour the Gangnam branch, Lotte Department Store Sogong main branch, and Jamsil branch in addition to the Shinsegae main branch. There is also speculation that he will meet with retail industry leaders. During his visit three years ago, he met Shin Dong-bin, chair of Lotte Group, and Lee Boo-jin, president of Hotel Shilla.
