Starbucks Korea said on the 6th that it will expand the Seoul-specialty drinks, "Seoul sunset omija Phizio" and "Seoul makgeolli-scented cold brew," to all Starbucks stores in the Seoul area.
The Seoul-specialty drinks are beverages that Starbucks introduced in March at 100 stores in the Seoul area so that domestic and international tourists visiting Seoul can remember their travel moments as special.
"Seoul sunset omija Phizio" was designed after the sunset over palace ponds, a signature sightseeing spot in Seoul. "Seoul makgeolli-scented cold brew" was popular among domestic and international tourists visiting Seoul for letting them enjoy the appeal of K-food makgeolli with coffee.
Starbucks will also pre-release a new drink, "watermelon juice blended," at all Seoul stores on the same day to cool the early heat. Watermelon juice blended features a richer fruit flavor by blending watermelon flesh with watermelon juice, and it replicates the look and texture of eating real watermelon with chocolate peanut toppings dotted in the drink like watermelon seeds. The drink is scheduled to expand sales to stores nationwide at the end of May.
Choi Hyun-jung, Starbucks food and beverage development head, said, "We hope the Seoul-specialty drinks will be the highlight that adds romance to travel," adding, "We will continue to offer delightful experiences to customers through Starbucks' differentiated menu."
