Convenience store GS25 launched wine and whiskey discount promotions for Family Month and the spring outing season.
GS25, a convenience store operated by GS Retail, said on May 6 it will run large-scale discounts focused on wine and whiskey throughout May.
May, packed with holidays and anniversaries, is considered a peak season when alcohol consumption rises. In May last year, wine and whiskey sales increased 12.4% from the previous month, posting the second-highest growth rate of the year.
In this promotion, GS25 will showcase 27 selections as "wine of the month." It expanded choices across price ranges, from everyday wines in the 10,000-won range to premium products over 100,000 won. A 20% instant discount applies to promotional items when paying with Samsung Card.
It will sell accessible wines at reasonable prices, including GS25-exclusive Duckhorn Decoy and Macho Man∙Macho Girl package products, as well as "Yellow Tail" and "Roche Mazet." For 750ml wine and champagne, customers paying with Naver Pay points or money will receive 20% cashback.
For 20 "whisky of the month" selections, the same 20% cashback applies when paying with Naver Pay. The lineup spans popular products such as "Teacher's," "Jim Beam," and "Suntory Kakubin," to premium labels like "Macallan" and "Balvenie," aiming to target both beginners and enthusiasts.
On "Our Neighborhood GS," GS Retail's dedicated application (app), the "Our Neighborhood marketplace promotion" will run throughout May. As a GS25 pickup-only promotion, it will offer discounts of up to 50% on about 300 wine and whiskey items.
