Coupang said on the 5th that by the end of this month it will donate 180,000 fashion items, including shoes, bags, children's clothing, and general apparel, to the international children's rights NGO Good Neighbors. After Coupang completes the campaign and delivers the goods, they will be provided in stages to underserved children and residents of vulnerable communities at home and abroad through Good Neighbors.
The campaign runs in a way that turns customers' everyday shopping into donations. During the campaign, when customers purchase items in Coupang's fashion category, the number of donated goods increases in line with the quantity purchased. Simply buying women's clothing, men's clothing, underwear, shoes, bags, or children's clothing automatically counts as taking part in the sharing.
Donated items will consist only of new products currently sold on Coupang, and more than 50,000 children's clothing items are included. Coupang also plans to disclose progress toward the donation goal on the promotion page to share the campaign's progress transparently.
A Coupang official said, "We designed this campaign so customers can naturally participate in sharing through everyday shopping," and added, "We will continue to expand a variety of social contribution activities that can provide practical help to our society's underserved neighbors."
