Select shop 29CM, operated by Musinsa, said on the 4th it will release Nike's iconic sneaker "Moon Shoe" in a limited drop on the 6th. The Moon Shoe is known as Nike's first running shoe, a model created by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman inspired by a waffle iron.
The release was planned to curate Nike's sneaker archive in 29CM's own content style and deliver a differentiated brand experience to customers. The aim is to share both the product's history and style with 29CM customers who value their own individuality and taste.
The newly introduced Moon Shoe features a modern take on the iconic waffle outsole and clean original design. Building on its distinctive silhouette, it adds a leather Swoosh logo and heel suede details to a nylon upper that gently wraps the foot. This emphasizes the classic vibe unique to vintage running shoes from the 1970s to 1980s. It comes in three colors: white, yellow, and navy.
To coincide with the product launch, 29CM will also unveil the editorial content "SHOWCASE+." The content features participation from 29CM editors and photographers. 29CM interprets the Moon Shoe, the cornerstone of Nike running history, not as a mere shoe but as a "time-accumulated object," and highlighted the product through a pictorial that captures a curator's everyday perspective. The plan is to visually convey the Moon Shoe's archival value and brand heritage.
During the SHOWCASE period, exclusive benefits and events will also take place. From the 4th for three days, five customers who tap "like" on the Nike brand shop in the 29CM app will be selected by drawing to receive a "Moon Shoe special kit" produced directly by 29CM. The kit includes a dedicated shoe box, gloves, and a pouch.
A 29CM official said, "It is meaningful to present the Moon Shoe, the starting point of Nike running history, to customers with 29CM's high-sensibility storytelling," adding, "Beyond simple product sales, we will deliver a unique curation experience exclusive to 29CM through differentiated collaborative content such as SHOWCASE that conveys the narratives embedded in the brand and product."
