Marking its 13th year, the Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is Korea's representative alcoholic beverage competition. With the goal of "discovering good domestic drinks and promoting them widely, and supporting the formation of a sound drinking culture," ChosunBiz has hosted the event annually since 2014.
This year's event drew 260 companies submitting a total of 1,118 brands. It is the largest among domestic competitions that cover a full range of alcoholic beverages. Of these, 449 brands won the grand prize.
The name Chiyomusubi carries the meaning of "eternal happiness and enduring bonds." Based on this, Chiyomusubi Sake Brewery collaborates with local farms to manage materials and supplies quality, inherits traditional brewing techniques, and at the same time incorporates modern technology to produce sake.
The award-winning Junmai is a sake characterized by a soft sweetness and fruit aromas reminiscent of pear and muscat. It is known to pair well with light seafood dishes.
Junmai Daiginjo Goriki 30 is a premium sake made using "Goriki," a brewing rice cultivated in Tottori Prefecture, Japan. It brings out the flavor and umami from carefully polished rice and features a clean finish. It pairs well with meat dishes, braised fish, and barbecue.
A Chiyomusubi Sake Brewery official said, "We will continue to harmonize tradition and innovation, and deliver inspiration and joy in every sake."
