Craft beer brewery Magic Tree Brewery said on the 29th that its product "Baekok Beauty" won the grand prize in the craft lager institutional sector at the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards. It is the third straight year since its first grand prize in 2024. Magic Tree Brewery has also recorded six consecutive wins since 2021.
Marking its 13th year, the Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is Korea's leading liquor tasting competition. With the goal of "discovering good domestic liquor, promoting it widely, and supporting the formation of a sound drinking culture," ChosunBiz has hosted it annually since 2014.
This year's event drew 260 companies that submitted a total of 1,118 brands. It is the largest among domestic tasting competitions that cover comprehensive liquor. Of these, 449 brands won the grand prize.
Magic Tree Brewery is a brewery located in Yongin, Gyeonggi. Baekok Beauty, which won the grand prize this time, is a beer brewed using Baekok rice, a local specialty of Yongin. It is characterized by the rice's signature clear, clean flavor harmonized with hop aroma and crisp refreshment.
A Magic Tree Brewery official said, "At the brand level, we find it very meaningful that, along with six consecutive wins, Baekok Beauty achieved three consecutive wins," and added, "We will continue to focus on developing differentiated beers using local agricultural products and improving quality."
