Wine importer Hansan W&B said on the 28th that four wines it entered in the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards each won the grand prize in their category, capturing four crowns. In particular, Rare Tawny 25 Years, Cabaret Cava Brut, and Peciña Crianza were named grand prize winners for the second straight year.
Marking its 13th year, the Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is Korea's leading alcoholic beverage competition. ChosunBiz has hosted it annually since 2014 with the goal of "discovering good drinks in Korea, widely promoting them, and supporting the formation of a sound drinking culture."
This year's event drew 260 companies that entered a total of 1,118 brands. It is the largest among domestic competitions that cover all categories of alcoholic beverages. Of these, 449 brands won the grand prize.
The Hansan W&B entries that won the grand prize were as follows: ◇ Rare Tawny 25 Years (fortified wine 50,000 won or more and less than 100,000 won) ◇ Cabaret Cava Brut (sparkling wine less than 50,000 won) ◇ Peciña Crianza (Old World red wine 30,000 won or more and less than 60,000 won) ◇ Hope's End Red Blend (New World red wine less than 30,000 won). In particular, Rare Tawny 25 Years is a long-aged wine characterized by harmonizing flavors of nuts, Scotch candy, and honey.
Cabaret Cava Brut carries apple, pear, and floral aromas with quince and toast notes. Peciña Crianza is aged for a long time in American oak barrels, and is noted for its rich fruit aromas and smooth texture. Hope's End Red Blend is characterized by a harmonious interplay of oak, vanilla, and fig flavors.
A Hansan W&B official said, "We are introducing a variety of products under the direction of offering wines that anyone can enjoy without burden," adding, "We will use this award as an opportunity to broaden our points of contact with consumers."
