Agricultural corporation Our Sool Dream Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Our Sool Dream) said on the 28th that its traditional liquor "Cheonjinnamman Yakju" won the grand prize in the yakju/cheongju category of the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards. It is the second straight year it has won.
Cheonjinnamman Yakju is a premium traditional liquor produced at a brewery located in downtown Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, and features an urban, community-based brewing model. Unlike breweries that are typically on the outskirts, it operates as a "showroom-style brewery" in the city where consumers can directly observe the production process.
The product is brewed based on a "clean label" approach that excludes artificial additives. It ferments using Bucheon-grown agricultural products and traditional nuruk, then ages in earthenware for more than 100 days to deliver a clean, pure flavor. It is characterized by a soft first sip and subtle apple aroma, with a fresh taste reminiscent of white wine cited as its strength.
The entire brewing process is personally overseen by CEO Kim Myung-seon and spouse Kim Young-sam. From raw material condition to fermentation, they manage details to minimize batch-to-batch quality variation, and through handcrafted processes, they maintain stable premium quality, Our Sool Dream said.
An Our Sool Dream official said, "It is meaningful that we received the grand prize in recognition of the original taste and quality of traditional liquor," adding, "We will continue to introduce premium traditional liquors based on local character and tradition."
