Musinsa said on the 28th that its large offline store unveiled in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, "Musinsa Megastore Seongsu," succeeded at the box office, drawing more than 40,000 customers from the first weekend of its opening.
According to Musinsa, a total of about 42,000 visitors came to Musinsa Megastore Seongsu over three days from the 24th to the 26th. The transaction amount generated at the store during the same period came to about 9 billion won. In particular, on the second day of opening, the 25th, the single-day transaction amount exceeded 3 billion won. The number of products sold over the weekend was counted at about 26,000.
Purchase efficiency was also high. The average transaction amount per customer at Musinsa Megastore Seongsu topped 100,000 won, and more than two items were sold per order on average. The offline store's success carried over online as well. During the same period, the Musinsa online store's transaction amount rose 18% from a year earlier, showing an online–offline linkage effect.
An analysis of visitors found that women accounted for 51% of buyers, indicating that male and female customers visited the store in relatively even numbers. By age, those in their teens and 20s accounted for more than 52%. Foreign buyers made up about 23%, and nonmembers accounted for 30% of all purchasing customers.
A Musinsa official said, "Customer response at home and abroad to the differentiated brand curation and experiential content prepared for the opening of Musinsa Megastore Seongsu was very enthusiastic," adding, "We will further diversify our curation so that customers visiting Seongsu-dong can experience a wide range of brands and content, and we will solidify our position as a leading fashion and beauty landmark in Seongsu-dong."
