Crown Confectionery said on the 27th that it will release "Conpichio," a pistachio edition, for the first time in 40 years since the launch of its Cone series represented by Concho and Conchi.
This follows "Con Matcha" in 2024 and reinterprets the ingredient "pistachio," popularized by the Dubai jjondeuk cookie, into a Cone series with a differentiated taste and texture. Due to a pistachio shortage, only 1 million bags will be sold.
Pistachio-flavored snacks currently on the market consist mainly of chocolates, biscuits, and pies, for which it is easy to create the flavor with cream. Crown Confectionery noted that, given it is difficult for snacks that rely on seasoning powder to fully capture the rich flavor of the raw ingredient, it used its distinctive technology to create a fondue snack coated with cream to realize a pistachio flavor.
Conpichio features a crispy corn snack with pistachio cream to maximize nuttiness. It also preserves the natural flavor of nuts by grinding whole pistachios into the cream.
A Crown Confectionery official said, "This is a new attempt to realize the trending nut, pistachio, as a snack with Crown's unique technology," adding, "We hope you can conveniently enjoy the sweet and nutty flavor of pistachio anytime, anywhere."
