Mom's Touch, a chicken and burger franchise, said on the 23rd that consumer payment amounts (POS sales) based on its stores nationwide surpassed 1 trillion won for the first time last year. Consumer payment amount is a figure tallied based on the amount consumers actually spent at stores.
According to Mom's Touch, last year's sales were 479 billion won. That is up 14.6% from a year earlier. Operating profit also increased 22.2% to 87.9 billion won. During the same period, consumer payment amounts at about 1,490 stores nationwide totaled about 1.0058 trillion won.
Mom's Touch kept a steady profitability trend, recording an 18.7% operating margin last year. With a franchise-centered structure, the burden of operating expense is relatively low, and the absence of separate overseas royalty expense appears to be a competitive edge.
Business expansion has proceeded around a "QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) platform" strategy. Having started as a chicken specialty shop, Mom's Touch is now expanding its menu to burgers and pizza. Stores currently selling the beef burger launched in 2022 number about 1,000. That has expanded to about 67% of all stores.
The pizza brand "Mom's Pizza," introduced in 2023, is also expanding by being added to existing stores in a shop-in-shop format, and now operates 229 stores nationwide. In particular, pizza has a higher average check than burgers and complements existing menus and time slots, so store sales are expected to increase.
The share of chicken sales also expanded from about 10% in 2019 to 21.1% in 2025. It more than doubled in about five years.
A Mom's Touch official said, "We plan to upgrade our store operations structure by expanding menus such as burgers and pizza," and added, "Based on the business model built domestically, we will continue our growth trend, including overseas market expansion." The official continued, "With this milestone of surpassing 1 trillion won in consumer payment amounts, our position in the No. 2 tier of the burger industry will also be established."
