KFJ Korea said on the 23rd that "Bungjawonbang" and "Jaya White Premium" won the top prize in the China baijiu institutional sector at the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards. Now in its 13th year, the Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is a tasting event that discovers good liquor and promotes it widely while selecting the best liquor in Korea. KFJ Korea has won the top prize in the China baijiu institutional sector for 11 consecutive years from 2016 through this year.
Bungjawonbang, which took the top prize in the China liquor baijiu institutional sector, is the premium line of "Confucius Family Liquor" brewed by the family of Confucius. Taking its brand from a line in the Xue'er chapter of the Analects, "Is it not a pleasure to have friends come from afar," Bungjawonbang is a premium nongxiang-type baijiu that carries on the traditional brewing method used by the Confucius family (Kongfu) to brew ritual liquor directly.
Made from five carefully selected grains and aged long-term in earthenware jars for six years, it features a bright fruity aroma and a clean aftertaste that spreads throughout the mouth.
"Jaya White Premium," which received the top prize alongside it, is brewed by the Wuxingwushan distillery, and a national-level master distiller blends separately aged liquors of 9, 11, and 13 years. The aroma lingers subtly throughout the mouth, and while the swallow is smooth, one can taste the rich sweetness of the grains.
A KFJ Korea official said, "It is very meaningful that the premium products of Confucius Family Liquor, 'Bungjawonbang' and 'Jaya White Premium,' were recognized side by side for their value." KFJ Korea has been officially importing Confucius Family Liquor into Korea for 34 years as of this year.
