Wine importer WINELL said on the 22nd that the Spanish red wine "Finca Fella El Maso" won the grand prize in the old world red wine category (100,000 won and above) at the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards.
El Maso is a wine produced in Spain's Almansa region and is made from 100% Garnacha Tintorera. It is characterized by ripe cherry and black currant fruit aromas layered with herb, spice, cocoa, and mineral nuances.
WINELL said, "With soft tannins, a long finish, and a solid structure, it has been recognized for both completeness and aging potential, and its well-balanced concentration is receiving positive feedback from domestic consumers."
"Finca Fella," which presented this wine, is a project planned by Italy's Fantini Group to explore the potential of Spanish wine. It captures the characteristics of grapes grown in Almansa's barren soils and extreme climate.
A WINELL official said, "After winning the grand prize at the Korea Wine & Spirits Awards with the Fantini brand last year, and now achieving success with El Maso this year, we are strengthening the competitiveness of our premium wine portfolio."
