The new product uses VEOCEL Lyocell fiber, a high-strength plant-based material in monofilament form. It maintains sufficient strength during use, but after disposal, the first breakdown occurs through friction with water, followed by secondary biodegradation through microbial action.

The fabric received the Technical Flushability Assessment, a flushable evaluation, from CTP (Centre Technique du Papier), a French paper and pulp research institute. In addition to biodegradation in soil and the natural environment, it is also compostable in household and industrial settings.

The formulation also strengthens eco-friendly elements. It fills 99% of the essence ingredients applied to the pad with naturally derived substances and, by using Grifola frondosa extract and thyme leaf extract, achieved a natural origin index (NOI) of 0.99 under ISO 16128.

The product was recognized for both technology and eco-friendliness by reaching the finals in the sustainability category at Cosmopack Awards at Cosmoprof Bologna 2026, held in Bologna, Italy, on the 7th of last month.

A COSMAX official said, "This product enhances sustainability by considering not only the user experience but also the disposal process," adding, "We will continue to introduce innovative products based on differentiated technology and expand K-beauty's competitiveness in the global clean beauty market."
